Are you a passionate and experienced SENCo looking for a rewarding opportunity in a vibrant school community? We are seeking an enthusiastic SENCo to join our school on a part-time basis starting in September 2025. This is a 1-year contract initially, with the potential to extend to a permanent position. The role offers an opportunity to lead special educational needs provision in an inclusive school that is committed to the development of all students. About Us: Our school in Hertfordshire is committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. We are proud of our strong Good Ofsted rating and the excellent progress our students make in both their academic and personal development. We pride ourselves on fostering a culture of collaboration and support amongst staff, with a focus on professional development and ensuring that every member of the school community feels valued. The Role: As the SENCo, you will be at the heart of ensuring that all children with special educational needs receive the tailored support they need to succeed. You will collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to deliver high-quality provision, ensuring that each pupil’s needs are met effectively. This part-time position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a school that truly values the contribution of its team. Your role will include leading on the SEND strategy, ensuring all pupils are supported to achieve their potential, and guiding staff to implement best practices in SEND provision. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and lead the SEND strategy across the school. * Work closely with class teachers to ensure pupils with SEND receive appropriate support and interventions. * Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEND, ensuring tailored plans and interventions are in place. * Liaise with parents, external professionals, and agencies to support the holistic development of SEND students. * Provide training and support to school staff on best practices for teaching and supporting students with special educational needs. * Review and develop the SEND policy, ensuring it meets statutory requirements and best practices. What We Offer: * Part-time position with flexible working hours. * MPS Salary Fringe, depending on experience, plus additional responsibilities for the right candidate. * 1-year contract initially, with the possibility of extension to a permanent position. * A collaborative and supportive team environment, where you will be encouraged to share best practices and ideas. * Access to a range of professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and career. * A nurturing school culture that places great importance on staff well-being and work-life balance. What We’re Looking For: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong background in teaching. * SENCo qualification (or a willingness to work towards it). * Experience working with special educational needs, preferably in a SENCo role. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. * A passionate commitment to ensuring all students have equal access to learning and the support they need. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and manage the SEND provision effectively. Location: Our school is located in Hertfordshire, offering excellent transport links and easy access to both rural and urban settings. Hertfordshire is a fantastic location to live and work, with vibrant communities, excellent local amenities, and beautiful countryside areas nearby. How to Apply: If you are a dedicated and experienced SENCo passionate about supporting children with special educational needs, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a covering letter outlining your experience and why you’re excited about the opportunity to make a difference in our school community
