TeacherActive is proud to partner with a fantastic SEND provision based in Wigan. The school follows a varied curriculum to suit the needs of the young people. Underpinning this, is the consistent teaching of people skills, and guidance to assist children develop their social, emotional, and personal abilities. Their culture is one of patience, inclusivity and helping children and young people to achieve their full potential, whilst promoting independence
The school is looking to take on a permanent SEND English Teacher from September on a full-time basis. The successful SEND English teacher will be working directly with students across all Key Stages, whose ages range from 511– 16yrs. Most of the young people are diagnosed with either Social and Emotional Mental Health / SEMH Attention Deficit Disorder / ADD or Behaviour challenges.
The successful SEND Teacher will have:
- QTS with an English Specialism
- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically SEMH, ADD and challenging Behaviour
- Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices
