Job Description
TeacherActive collaborates with amazing specialist schools across Essex. Students with behavioural, emotional, social, and mental health (SEMH) needs, will be under your care. They are now hiring self-assured people to work as a learning support assistant.
The school offers support for students who experience difficulties with attachment and for kids on the autism spectrum. For the learning support assistant, prior experience working with these requirements is not required, however it is preferred. We would be happy to speak with you if you are a driven and compassionate person who wants to make the biggest difference in the lives of these children.
Working five days a week in this full-time employment will help you build strong relationships with both students and coworkers. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you feel that this is an opportunity for you despite not being able to work full-time.
It is mandatory for all school employees to have their updated DBS registered with the updating service. If not, we can assist you by sending you a direct application link. If you have worked overseas for more than six months in the last five years, you must obtain an OSPC (Overseas Police Check). These will be required in every school setting as a safety precaution.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience with SEND students as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
Excellent classroom management
An NVQ Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification preferably
Child and Adult DBS
Experience working with Autism
