Are you a passionate, experienced Teaching Assistant looking to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in a thriving inclusive school environment? Do you have a background in care, youth work, or education, and want to develop your skills while making a real difference in the lives of young people?
We’re recruiting a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our committed team, working with pupils aged 11–16 with a range of complex learning needs, including Down syndrome, non-verbal communication, physical disabilities, and developmental delays.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualised support to pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
Work 1:1 and in small groups to promote engagement, independence, and life skills
Assist in delivering differentiated lesson plans in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO
Use communication aids and strategies, including PECS, Makaton, or assistive technology (training provided)
Support personal care needs sensitively, when required
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, PMLD, or SLD
A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach to support diverse learner profiles
Strong communication and team-working skills
Enthusiasm for inclusive education and a willingness to learn
Whether you have worked as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Care Worker, Support Worker, or in a youth-focused setting, your transferable skills are valued here.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
