Teaching Assistant - Post-16 SEN Support - Edgware, HA8
Long Term Futures are working closely with a specialist SEN school in the Edgware area to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learners in the Post-16 provision.
This is a rewarding role for someone experienced in supporting young people with Autism (ASD) and additional learning needs, focused on life skills, independence and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for Post-16 students with ASD and complex needs
* Assist in delivering functional skills and vocational learning programmes
* Support students in developing life skills and independence both in and out of the classroom
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists and SEN professionals to deliver EHCP targets
* Foster a safe, respectful, and structured environment for all learners
* Encourage positive communication, emotional regulation, and confidence building
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working in a SEN school or provision, particularly with ASD and older students
* Understanding of functional skills, EHCP implementation and behaviour support strategies
* A calm, patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Background in education, youth work or care is highly desirable
Location & Transport - Edgware, London (HA8):
* Accessible via Edgware Station (Northern Line) and Burnt Oak Station
* Local bus routes: 32, 142, 204, 251, 292
* On-site parking available for staff
