A well-established, growing accountancy practice in Maidstone is seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager (Accounts) to join its supportive and collaborative team. The Role:
You will play a key role in managing client relationships and supporting the delivery of accounts and tax compliance work for a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses, partnerships, and individuals. You will supervise junior staff, review work, and contribute to the ongoing success of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and review accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, and LLPs
* Prepare and review corporation tax, partnership tax, and personal tax returns
* Support and supervise junior team members, reviewing their work and providing guidance
* Act as a point of contact for client queries, building strong client relationships
* Assist partners with client meetings and ad hoc advisory work
* Monitor job budgets and workflow to ensure timely, accurate delivery
* Identify opportunities to improve processes or add value for clients
* Contribute to business development through referrals and networking
About You:
* ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with experience in general practice
* Strong technical knowledge of accounts and tax compliance
* Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
* Excellent communication and client care skills
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines
* Enjoy working collaboratively in a close-knit team
