Senior Commercial Property Solicitor
West Midlands Local Authority
Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE
Contract: 3-6 months initially
Spencer Clarke Group are working with a local authority based in the West Midlands region to find an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor. The successful candidate will join their busy commercial property team who undertake a varied caseload of commercial property transactions and complex projects for all Council departments and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing complex legal advice to clients on a variety of commercial property transactions including (but not limited to) sales, purchases, leases, development agreements, compulsory purchase, option agreements, overage and lockout agreements.
Delivery of projects, development and property.
Advising on draft Cabinet and Committee reports and attendance at meetings where required.
Supervising junior staff members and delivering training where necessary.
Adhering to the Legal Services Unit's LEXCEL quality standards.
Key Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor/fellow of CILEX or Barrister with proven commercial property experience, within either the public sector and/or private practice.
An excellent understanding of County Council processes and procedures.
Competently manage a case load of relevant complexity.
Utilise professional knowledge, combined with an understanding of council policy, to advise upon or determine the appropriate course of action.
Ability to work autonomously, planning and prioritising own workload, in order to achieve goals, targets and responsibilities.
