Client Details
A leading not-for-profit organisation in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to support the delivery of an efficient and compliant procurement service. This role is perfect for a motivated procurement professional looking to take ownership of high-impact projects and help drive value across a significant annual spend of approx. £52 million.
Description
The Role
You'll play a key part in a small but high-performing procurement team, supporting procurement strategy and delivering cost-effective, compliant solutions that align with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on procurement projects across various categories, including preparing tender documentation and managing end-to-end processes.
Provide expert advice to stakeholders across departments, supporting strategic decision-making.
Ensure all procurement activity complies with UK legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023.
Help develop and implement targets related to cashable savings and social value.
Support supplier base consolidation and effective contract management in collaboration with senior colleagues.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement and contract management systems.
Profile
About You
We're looking for a proactive and skilled individual with:
A strong background in public sector procurement.
A relevant qualification (e.g. MCIPS, CIPS) or working toward one.
Knowledge of public procurement law and regulations.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
A commercial mindset and attention to delivering value for money.
