Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Regional (Office & Site-Based – Flexible) Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + Car/Allowance + Benefits Sector: Civil Engineering & Infrastructure About the Company Our client is a well-established and respected regional civil engineering contractor with a strong track record delivering complex infrastructure projects across the highways, marine, and energy sectors. Operating for over 60 years, they are known for high-quality delivery, collaborative culture, and technical expertise. Due to a healthy pipeline of secured work and strategic growth, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Key Sectors Highways & Roads Bridges & Structures Flood Defence & Coastal Engineering Harbours & Marine Infrastructure Renewable Energy (Onshore/Offshore Wind, Solar, Hydro) Private Infrastructure & Utilities Role Overview Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial ownership of multiple civil engineering projects, managing all aspects of cost control, contract administration, subcontractor management, and client liaison. You will play a vital role in protecting commercial interests while supporting project teams to ensure timely and profitable delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial aspects of multiple civils projects from pre-construction to final account Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting Administer NEC, ICE or JCT contracts including early warnings, compensation events, and change management Procure and manage subcontractors, including scope review, tendering, and payment certification Lead on value engineering, cost recovery, and risk mitigation Support tendering teams with pricing, rates, and supply chain engagement Work closely with operations and planning teams to monitor progress and manage commercial risks Produce regular reports for senior management and clients Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required Requirements Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a commercial role with a civil engineering contractor Strong understanding of NEC contracts (Option A & C) Proven track record on highways, marine, flood defense, energy or related infrastructure projects Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a regional delivery team Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across project sites What’s On Offer Competitive salary: £75,000 - £90,000 depending on experience Car or car allowance Bonus scheme Private healthcare and pension 25+ days annual leave + bank holidays Ongoing professional development and career progression Stable, regional workload with a supportive leadership team
