Job Description
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Fire Protection
As a key member of the Commercial Team, you’ll lead contract administration and commercial activities, supporting the Commercial Manager in maintaining accurate records, managing risk and opportunity, and driving profitable, sustainable growth. You'll oversee commercial operations across multiple projects, ensuring compliance, performance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
*
Lead and mentor the commercial team; support operational colleagues.
*
Forecast margins, manage project cost/value, and monitor commercial risk.
*
Oversee contract administration (JCT/NEC), key dates, clauses, and compliance.
*
Manage applications for payment, liaise with finance, and ensure timely invoicing.
*
Handle subcontractor procurement, payments, change control, and final accounts.
*
Maintain and track key documentation (contracts, NDAs, variations, etc.).
*
Drive operational excellence and embed commercial best practices.
*
Build strong client relationships; lead regular commercial meetings.
*
Support commercial policies and performance metrics.
*
Ensure notices and reporting are aligned with programme requirements.
Skills & Experience
*
Strong background in contract administration (JCT/NEC), risk, and cost control.
*
Skilled in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); able to read project programmes.
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management.
*
Knowledge of construction law and the Construction Act.
*
Experience managing people preferred.
Desirable
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying.
*
M&E or Data Centre experience a plus.
*
Full driving licence.
