Senior Quantity Surveyor – Newbury
📍 Newbury, Berkshire
💸 Up to £90,000 + Package
Walker & Sloan are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and design-led main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the South of England.
We’re now looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a new project based in Newbury. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the commercial delivery of an exciting and technically complex scheme.
Role Overview:
As Senior QS, you’ll be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans
*
Managing procurement and tendering processes
*
Subcontractor negotiation, appointment, and management
*
Regular cost reporting and forecasting
*
Value engineering and risk management
*
Ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions
Requirements:
*
Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within a main contractor environment
*
Excellent knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT and/or NEC)
*
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
*
Ability to lead commercial activities on a project from start to finish
*
Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
