Senior Social Worker – Family Assessment Unit (Full-Time) – Birmingham
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham (On-site)

Are you an experienced, compassionate Social Worker looking to make a real difference in families’ lives? We are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated team in a Family Assessment Unit based in Kings Heath..
About the Role:
In our 8-family, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ Family Assessment Centre, we work with mothers and their newborns over a 13-week period to assess and support their parenting capacity. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team offering intensive, evidence-based interventions within a nurturing, one-site residential environment – no driving required!
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting tailored, robust parenting assessments based on individual needs and risks.
* Working closely with Key Workers and Support Teams to observe, monitor and report on parental care.
* Delivering high-quality reports and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
* Supporting and guiding parents to reflect, learn, and grow in a safe, structured setting.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registration required).
* Minimum of 4 years’ experience in family assessment and child protection.
* A solid understanding of safeguarding procedures and evidence-based assessment methods.
* DBS on the Update Service (preferred).
* Excellent communication, observation, and report writing.
