Service Engineer
Liaison with: General Manager & Contracts Director
Role Overview:
This hands-on field role involves servicing, commissioning, and maintaining equipment, with autonomy and direct customer liaison. You will support internal teams and report technical findings while working to tight specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
Key Focus:
To work efficiently to process and deliver orders won by the company within budget and timeframe to carry out work to specifications and company quality standards; achieve customer deadlines and dates (including completed works files, updating manuals while ensuring the health & safety and good housekeeping of the working environment).
Responsibilities of the Service Engineer:
• Carry out service engineer activities in conjunction with Internal Sales Engineer and Technical Services Engineer
• Feedback information to Internal Sales Engineer & General Manager if pricing adjustments are required
• Servicing equipment
• Follow up reports and quotes for remedial work
• Repairs of equipment
• Quoting for replacement of equipment
• Liaise with General Manager on above
• Carrying out surveys with Technical Service Engineer
• Produce follow up reports with recommendations with assistance of Technical Service Engineer or General Manager as necessary
• Provide quotations for equipment
• Preparation of RAMS
• Ability to order required parts and liaise with suppliers
• Liaise with Internal Sales Engineer regarding ordering of parts and required timescales
• Meetings and discussions with customers to ensure there is a clear understanding of requirements
• Identify additional opportunities for the client
• On-site fault finding and equipment / product failure investigation
• Identify improvements required, feedback to General Manager & suppliers
• Acquire an understanding of servicing procedures
• Complete service contract review
Pay Rate: £34,000 - £46,522 DOE
• 95% day job – rarely overnight and or weekend – travelable within the day
• Van provided
• Attend office on average every fortnight
• Normally load for the whole week and then door to door based on client requirements
• They will need Level 3 NVQ - need to be qualified Electrical
• Electrical – specialist niche market
• Service and maintenance role
