Role Summary
As a Shunter Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently shunting vehicles around the premises. Your role is crucial in supporting the warehousing and distribution operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
* Safe and Legal Driving: Drive vehicles in accordance with legal and site requirements, ensuring compliance at all times. Prioritise safety for all road users, colleagues, and pedestrians in the work area.
* Daily Checks and Defect Reporting: Conduct thorough daily checks on vehicles to ensure they are safe for use. Immediately report any defects and complete associated paperwork in a timely manner.
* Paperwork Completion: Complete all necessary paperwork, such as movement sheets, accurately and on time.
* Professional Conduct: Always be respectful to other road users and the public, maintaining the company's reputation.
* Adherence to Company Rules: Follow Company rules and procedures as outlined in the shunter pack and other policies, including site rules.
* Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure that all PPE is in good order and worn as instructed.
* Continuous Improvement: Actively seek to improve processes and services for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
* Vehicle Safety and Reporting: Check all vehicles for defects before use and report any issues immediately to ensure safety.
Essential Criteria
* Licence and Experience: Must hold an HGV 1/C+E Licence for a minimum of 2 years.
* Driving Record: No more than 6 points on your licence, with no DD/DR Code convictions.
* DCPC Card: Hold a current valid DCPC Card.
* Legislation Knowledge: Understand and comply with Drivers' hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
* Vehicle Checks: Able to conduct necessary vehicle checks and report defects accurately.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
