Job Title: Quality Assurance Lead – Children's Services
Location: Time Square Offices Bracknell forest Council Berkshire (minimum 3 days on-site)
Reports to: Head of First Response / Principal Social Worker

Salary: £411 per day LTD Paye 321.03 per day
Hours: Full-time
Job Purpose To lead and contribute to a robust quality assurance programme that ensures the continuous improvement of children's social care services. This role will focus on auditing casework, assessing practice standards, and working with practitioners and leadership to drive high-quality service delivery for children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities
Complete audits of case files using strength-based tools to assess the quality of practice and outcomes.
Scrutinise the effectiveness of frontline practice in safeguarding and meeting the needs of children and young people.
Provide critical analysis of casework and practice, identifying strengths, learning opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with practitioners, team managers, and senior leaders to co-develop improvement initiatives based on audit findings.
Produce clear, evidence-based reports with recommendations and follow-up actions.
Triangulate findings with feedback from children, families, and multi-agency partners.
Support inspection readiness through preparation of materials and QA evidence.
Lead training and provide coaching to social work managers on audit methodology and reflective practice.
Contribute to the review and refinement of policies, procedures, and practice frameworks.

Extensive experience in statutory social work and supervision across a range of children's services.
Proven track record of conducting audits using various QA models and tools.
Experience working within and contributing to quality assurance systems, including “closing the loop” on improvements.You will be able to demonstrate:
A clear understanding of what “good” and “outstanding” practice looks like.
Confidence in constructively challenging practice and supporting improvement planning.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills to assess complex information.
Ability to lead reflective discussions and promote a culture of learning.
