We are looking for a compassionate, organised, and motivated Social Work Assistant to support team working with foster carers and children in care. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and dedicated service focused on improving outcomes and providing high-quality support to children and their carers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support qualified social workers in delivering services to foster carers and children in care.
* Undertake direct work with children and young people, including life story work and participation activities.
* Assist with placement monitoring and support visits to foster homes.
* Coordinate and support contact between children and their families.
* Help organise foster carer training sessions, support groups, and events.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to assessments and reports.
* Liaise with schools, health professionals, and other partner agencies.
* Promote safeguarding and emotional wellbeing for all children in care.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* Experience working with children, young people, or families in a social care or related setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work sensitively and effectively with vulnerable individuals.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Competent IT and record-keeping skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
* A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People).
* Knowledge of fostering, children in care, or child protection procedures.
* Be part of a dedicated team making a real difference in children's lives.
