Provide direct line management to up to two social workers, including guidance, support, and formal supervision where appropriate.
*
Act as deputy to the Case Supervisor, supporting case direction, attending panels, and ensuring service quality.
*
Conduct thorough and timely assessments, analyse risk, and develop action plans to ensure the welfare of children.
*
Build effective relationships with children, families, and carers to promote resilience and reduce dependency on services.
*
Prepare high-quality court reports, attend hearings, and represent the Local Authority in legal proceedings.
*
Apply professional judgement and creativity to identify bespoke, innovative solutions to complex family needs.
Key Requirements
*
Qualified social worker with a recognised qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, etc.).
*

*
Significant post-qualification experience in a statutory children’s social care setting.
*
Strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and safeguarding frameworks.

Desirable
*
Practice Educator (Stage 2) or willingness to train.
*
Knowledge of local authority policies, procedures, and models such as Signs of Safety.
*
Supervisory experience, particularly supporting ASYE or student placements.
Working Arrangements
*
Flexible/agile working is expected, including occasional evening or weekend work.
*
You must hold a current full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle (unless exempted due to a disability or health condition).
*
Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
