Job Description

Job Title: Social Worker / Senior Practitioner - Children's Integrated Assessment Service Location: County Hall, Oxford, OX1 1ND Salary: £37,938 - £47,754 (Grade 10 - 12, dependent on experience) Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible working considered) Team: Integrated Assessment Service Service Area: Children's Front Door Services Reports to: Team Manager Contract Type: Permanent Hybrid Working: Yes - 2 days per week in the office We are looking for a committed Social Worker or Senior Practitioner to join Oxfordshire County Council's Children's Integrated Assessment Service. This team is central to delivering timely and effective support at the Front Door of children's services. You will hold a varied caseload, complete high-quality assessments, and ensure children and families receive the right interventions at the right time. You will work in a hybrid arrangement with two days per week based in the office and the rest working flexibly. Key responsibilities include managing a caseload of children and families, working within the FSP Workbook model and Oxfordshire's Threshold of Needs and Practice Standards, completing high-quality child and family assessments, preparing reports for child protection conferences and legal proceedings, attending conferences, reviews and court hearings, completing Section 47 investigations where required, recording and maintaining accurate case records using ICT systems, taking part in group and individual supervision, responding to new referrals as part of the team's duty rota, and embedding the voice of the child in all assessments and plans. To be considered for the Senior Practitioner role, candidates must have a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience, including at least 12 months of statutory social work experience. Remaining experience must be at a comparable level within a recognised health or social care provider. We are looking for practitioners who are Social Work England registered, committed to improving outcomes for children and families, resilient, flexible, and skilled in working collaboratively with a range of agencies. You should be confident in applying legislation and safeguarding procedures and be able to balance risk while supporting children and families effectively.
