Sociology Teacher – Outstanding School – Surrey
An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Surrey seeks a dedicated and insightful Sociology Teacher to join their successful and well-regarded Humanities/Social Sciences department. This is a full-time, permanent position, primarily teaching Key Stages 4 and 5. The school has a strong track record of student achievement in Sociology.
Responsibilities:
The successful Sociology Teacher will plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that explore the complexities of social life. You will cover a range of sociological topics, theories, and research methods, preparing students for success in Sociology examinations (GCSE and A-Level). Developing students' critical thinking, analytical abilities, and research skills are central to this Sociology Teacher role. An excellent Sociology Teacher will thrive here.
Requirements:
Applicants must be a qualified Sociology Teacher (QTS) with a degree in Sociology or a closely related field. Proven experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level (Key Stages 4 and 5), ideally with evidence of strong student outcomes, is essential. Strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and effective classroom management are required.
