Sociology Teacher
Are you a dynamic and reflective Sociology Teacher ready to lead and inspire? Teach Now is excited to present an exceptional opportunity to join a high-achieving, non-selective Academy in Watford as a Sociology Teacher with TLR responsibilities.
This is a fantastic chance to be part of a forward-thinking, inclusive school that blends academic excellence with a strong community ethos. With a “Good” OFSTED rating since 2012, most recently reaffirmed in December 2024, this school continues to grow and evolve, and now needs a passionate educator to help shape the future of its vibrant Humanities department.
The Role:
This full-time role covers Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering thought-provoking Sociology lessons that challenge students to think critically about society, culture, identity, and the forces that shape the world around them. You will have the opportunity to take on TLR responsibilities, helping to lead curriculum development, mentor junior staff, or contribute to whole-school initiatives.
• The school is particularly interested in candidates who:
• Have a strong track record in secondary education
• Bring leadership potential or experience within a department
• Are confident teaching A-Level Sociology
• Can inspire a diverse student body with engaging and relevant teaching
• Are committed to long-term impact, not just short-term cover
Why This School?
• A modern campus with cutting-edge facilities and a strong emphasis on teacher wellbeing
• A diverse, enthusiastic student body that thrives on inclusive teaching
• A flexible interview process — Teams call or coffee chat as Stage 1, or a fast-tracked interview for the right candidate
• Opportunities for professional growth and leadership progression
• If you’re ready to make a meaningful difference in students’ understanding of the world and take the next step in your teaching career, we want to hear from you.
