Sociology Teacher
Are you an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Sociology teacher looking for a meaningful part-time role? Do you believe in the power of social sciences to help students understand the world and their place in it?
Teach Now is recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Hertfordshire, seeking a passionate Sociology Teacher to join their humanities faculty from September 2025. This permanent, part-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to engage students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, and to contribute to a department that values curiosity, critical thinking, and inclusive debate.
The school prides itself on offering a supportive and collaborative environment where staff wellbeing is central to its ethos. The leadership team fosters professional growth, with a strong CPD programme and clear pathways for career development. Facilities are modern, classrooms are well-resourced, and students are engaged, respectful, and eager to learn.
This role is perfect for a teacher who brings academic rigour and a fresh perspective to the study of Sociology. You should be able to plan and deliver thought-provoking lessons that not only meet curriculum goals but also empower students to ask questions and think independently about society and culture.
Whether you’re an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge, or someone returning to the profession seeking a flexible role, we would love to hear from you.
Key Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a specialism in Sociology or a related subject
• Experience teaching across KS3–KS5 (A-Level experience is highly desirable)
• A commitment to inclusive education and differentiated teaching
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Passion for making sociology relevant and engaging
