Sports Cover Supervisor / specialist Teaching Assistant
Are you highly motivated and a driven Teaching Assistant/ Cover Supervisor with a passion for sport?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a dedicated Sports Specialist Teaching Assistant/ Cover Supervisor to join a "Good" Alternative Provision Secondary School within Preston starting as soon as possible.
The Alternative Provision School caters for 11- to 16-year-olds who have found it difficult to achieve in a mainstream setting.
This is a full time, long term role. Helping to deliver and support PE and Outdoor Education throughout the Secondary Alternative Provision, coaching and delivery experience is required as well as Covering Supervisor work and Teaching Assistant Work.
As a Sports Specialist Teaching Assistant/ Cover Supervisor your job will be supporting and delivering sport across KS3 to KS4 by working with small groups of pupils to enhance their learning and academic development.
Your role will involve supporting and teaching pupils within this "Good" Secondary Alternative Provision experience is essential and a patient and determined character is needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience both within delivering and supporting within PE ideally qualified to Level 3.
We are looking for:
Someone who has ideally, have experience delivering and supporting within PE and ideally qualified to Level 3. You must also have a passion for working with Secondary aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.
Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
Teaching Assistant Level or Degree Qualified
Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour.
Experience with supporting challenging behaviour.
Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently.
