The Role
As a Substance Misuse Doctor, you will play a key role within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. You'll provide clinical assessments, prescribing, and health interventions that promote recovery and wellbeing. Working under the guidance of a Consultant in Addiction Medicine and Clinical Services Manager, you'll help maintain and improve the quality of care delivered across the service.
This is an ideal opportunity for GPs with a portfolio career or doctors with an interest in addiction medicine seeking flexibility and meaningful work. Full training and ongoing professional development are provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct face-to-face and remote clinical consultations
Initiate and review prescribing for substance misuse treatment
Support the development of best clinical practice within the team
Work collaboratively with psychosocial staff and external partners
Contribute to the improvement of service user outcomes and recovery pathwaysWhat We're Looking For:
GMC-registered Doctor (essential)
Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience, with 2 years in a relevant specialty preferred
Experience in managing physical and psychiatric comorbidities
Experience in addiction medicine desirable, but not essential - full training provided
Right to work in the UK
