Supplier Quality Engineer (UK, Remote - Darlington Area Preferred)
Job Description:
We're hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our VPI Supplier Quality team, supporting operations from our Darlington site. This is a mostly remote role, with occasional onsite visits required. Candidates located near Darlington are preferred.
You'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing) to ensure quality compliance, support APQP/PPAP activities, resolve build issues, and drive continuous improvement. While no travel is needed initially, future visits to UK and European supplier sites may be required.
This contract runs until 31st December 2025, with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with suppliers to meet quality and engineering requirements
Support new supplier/component selection
Lead issue resolution during builds
Drive APQP/PPAP processes and maintain quality metrics
Conduct audits and root cause investigations
Lead supplier improvement initiatives and FIRG activities
Requirements:
3-5 years in a Supplier Quality Engineer role
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Lean, Six Sigma, and quality systems
Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field (experience may substitute)
Strong communication and collaboration skillsBefore You Apply
