The role:
As a Supply Primary Teacher, you will play a key role in maintaining educational continuity across year groups. Whether covering pre-set lessons or contributing your own creative teaching strategies, you will be a valued part of the teaching team. Key Responsibilities of Primary Teacher - Supply:
Deliver pre-planned and engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 in the absence of class teachers
Adapt teaching to accommodate the needs of all pupils, including those with SEN or EAL
Maintain high standards of classroom management and positive behaviour
Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
Mark and assess pupils' work in line with school policy where required
Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff to support pupil progress
Uphold school policies on safeguarding, behaviour, and equality
Communicate effectively with parents and staff when necessary
Participate in school meetings or briefings as needed during placements
Supply Primary Teacher Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent degree in the UK is essential
Proven classroom teaching experience in Primary settings (EYFS, KS1 or KS2)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A flexible, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
Knowledge of current curriculum standards and safeguarding practices
