What will you do?
Set up and run therapeutic groups for those who have experienced sexual violence.
Create a safe environment for people to talk and connect.
Inform, empower and build people up while improving overall wellbeing.
Provide a trauma-informed response to individuals engaged in the sessions.
Be creative! Bring your own ideas, hobbies and interests in to the role.
Develop new group sessions and opportunities for people.
Have fun! This role is about connection, enjoyment and being yourself.
Keep the current group sessions running in Pontypool, while setting up new ones across Gwent.
Run online group sessions.
Work across the Gwent area.
What are the basics?
This is a FIXED TERM position due to funding.
Funding will continue until 31st March 2026 (with possibility of extension).
Salary of £23,500 increasing to £24,000 after probation period.
Training and induction programme when starting.
Core hours - 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Monday to Friday.
35 hours per week.
This role covers the Gwent area (Pontypool, Newport, Ebbw Vale and surrounding areas).
Flexible, agile, hybrid working options.
45p per mile for travel costs.
Set up your main base from the closest office.
What do we need?
Ideally, someone with a good understanding of the effects of sexual and domestic violence.
Good knowledge of trauma-informed ways of working.
You'll have experience of supporting vulnerable people.
Maybe come from a teaching or education background.
YOU WILL NEED A CAR FOR THIS ROLE AS IT IS COMMUNITY BASED
Comfortable working with, and facilitating groups.
Able to pass a DBS check - or have one in place already.
You'll be great with people!
