A Primary school based in Enfield is thrilled to announce the opening of our brand-new Autism Unit,are seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join us on this exciting venture. Position: Teaching Assistant - Autism Unit in Primary school Location: Enfield Borough, London Number of Children: 8 Contract Type: Full-time Temporary Contract Duration: Immediate Start until July 2026 Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (Term Time Only) At this Primary School, they believe in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child's potential is recognized and celebrated. This Autism Unit is a testament to their commitment to providing specialized support for children with autism, ensuring they receive a tailored education that meets their unique needs. By joining this dedicated team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of these young learners. Role and Responsibilities: Provide individualized support and guidance to students within the Autism Unit. Collaborate with the class teacher and therapists to implement personalized learning programs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported. Assist students in developing social, communication, and behavioural skills. Work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and participate in training and professional development opportunities. Requirements: Relevant experience working with children with autism is highly desirable. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent qualification. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with autism.
