Secondary Teaching Assistant - Full Curriculum Support - Hackney
Long Term Futures are working closely with a high-performing secondary school in Hackney to appoint a confident and adaptable Teaching Assistant.
This is a long-term role suited to someone with previous secondary experience - or strong upper KS2 experience - who is comfortable supporting students across a range of subjects and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide academic and pastoral support to students across KS3 and KS4 in a variety of subjects
* Work with students with SEND and additional needs, supporting both in-class learning and small group interventions
* Adapt support methods to suit a wide range of learning styles and abilities
* Collaborate with subject teachers and the SEN department to deliver individual support strategies
* Help maintain focus and engagement in lessons, while promoting inclusion and independence
* Support the overall classroom environment and contribute to positive behaviour and learning outcomes
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working in a secondary school, or strong experience with Year 5/6 in a primary setting
* A good understanding of SEND and inclusive education
* Confidence supporting across subjects including English, Maths, Science and Humanities
* A flexible and proactive attitude, able to adapt to different classroom settings each day
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff alike
Location & Transport - Hackney, London (E8):
* Well-connected via Hackney Central, Dalston Junction and Homerton stations
* Served by multiple local bus routes: 30, 38, 55, 106, 236, 276
* On-site parking available for staff
