Job Summary: North Somerset Council is seeking an experienced and skilled Fostering Social Worker with kinship care experience to join our Fostering Team. You will focus on assessing, supporting, and supervising kinship carers to ensure safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children.

Key Responsibilities:
Undertake kinship fostering assessments (Form C and SGO assessments) in line with national guidance and statutory requirements.
Provide ongoing supervision and support to kinship foster carers, ensuring placements are safe and sustainable.
Work closely with children’s social workers, legal services, and the fostering panel to progress care planning and permanency arrangements.
Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, court proceedings, and fostering panel as required.
Maintain up-to-date, high-quality case recordings and documentation.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and service development activities.Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Proven experience in fostering, particularly in kinship care assessments and support
Sound knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and permanency planning
Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and meet deadlines
