Inside IR35 to 550 (approx 700 to umbrella)
Technical IT Project Manager within a Film/TV Media production environment. This is UK based but working hours will be 1pm -9pm because of US based project stakeholders. We're looking for a Technical IT Project Manager to oversee the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a variety of Technical IT projects who has gained this experience within a Film/TV/Media Production environment or similar. You'll play the critical role of implementing key initiatives for production groups and within the Technology team. Due to many resources being located in the US west coast, there will be an expectation to align at least half the day to PST working hours. So they request working hours from 1:00-9:00 PM UTC here in the UK.
It is expected to be Hybrid working but predominantly working from Home 3-4 days a week TBC with some travel to West London/Greater London locations (so you may need your own transport).
Working within the Program Management & Enabling Technologies team, you'll be joining a group of seasoned, dedicated technologists supporting world class productions, developing the next generation of production technology, as well as solving a range of interesting problems in innovative ways in an exciting and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
* Serves as the project manager and point of contact with the production teams for shows based in the UK. They will communicate directly with the shows to intake production requests, provide updates, assess priority and track schedules, gather technical requirements and manage the show project plans.
* Lead calls with productions based on the phase of the show: pre-production, production, and post-production. Assist in communicating needs, breakfixes, and issues that productions have to technology engineers to deliver/fix.
* Lead coordination with other project managers and business resources to assign tasks to the Studio Technology engineers in the USA and ensure tasks are completed by production timeline.
* Lead multiple shows/concurrent technology initiatives throughout their lifecycle. This includes project intake, use case definition, charter and scope definition, project plan development, capacity allocations, resource assignment, project execution, and post mortems.
* Ensure clear reporting of project status from project teams including: timelines, milestone tracking, budget status and issue identification to program management and stakeholders
* Prioritize and escalate critical operational tasks, execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
* Leverage Studio Technology's business intelligence application (e.g., PowerBI) for executive reporting; utilize KPIs to assess program, project, sprint planning, and resource velocity health; and lead corrective actions as required.
* Apply analytical and critical thinking to identify team inefficiencies and risk areas, and implement projects or processes to improve operations
* Create workflow diagrams of production technology processes and identify opportunities to streamline processes or improve efficiency
Required Experience & Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in Technical Project Management role, utilizing waterfall and agile methodology
* 3+ years of experience managing a diverse portfolio of projects reflecting a wide range of technologies, complexities, and duration
* Previous experience working in a Content Creation/Production project environment such as film studio/TV, Broadcast Media or similar media content creation environment
* Experience in helping manage cross-functional technical teams and projects, including architects, infrastructure and data engineers, software developers, system reliability engineers, storage engineers, audio/visual or post-production engineers to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment
* Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks and organizing and prioritizing work effectively, in a constantly evolving and rapidly changing environment
* Excellent meeting facilitation skills and effective team player
* Extensive experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet and Jira.
* Ability to develop and present business cases via PowerPoint or Keynote
* Strong written and oral communications skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to create workflow drawings and process maps utilizing tools like Lucidchart
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experienced with Business Intelligence tools such as MS Power BI
* PMP certification a plus
* Certified Scrum Master a plus
Required Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, or related technical discipline
Scheduling Expectations: Due to needing to work with teams on the US PST hours, would request working hours from 1:00-9:00 PM UTC
