Job Description
Specialist Manufacturer and Distributor of Pump Systems for various industry sectors requires an experienced Technical Manager to join their team. The purpose of the Technical Manager role will be to motivate and develop the Technical Sales Engineer in their understanding of the full product range and presentation of technical support to the sales team as well as direct to customers, providing the technical link and liaison between all stakeholders.
Successful candidates for the position of Technical Manager are expected to possess detailed industry knowledge and must be qualified to degree level in an engineering or technical discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering or with comparable demonstrated experience. Offered as a permanent contract with competitive salary, company benefits and immediate start available.
Technical Manager duties include:
* Management of the Technical Sales Engineer, identifying training and development needs and ensuring organisation structure is appropriate to the business needs
* Coordinating with manufacturing and production to ensure all product capabilities and updates are known and communicated throughout the company
* Managing the processes by which technical compliance of offered products is assured against customer, company or UK standards and the effective management of technical non-conformities raised
* Supporting key customers with technical advice, both generally and in support of key projects
* Working closely with the Sales team to assist in the identification and conversion of future business development opportunities
Successful candidates for the position of Technical Manager will possess the following skills and experience:
* Qualified to degree level in an engineering or technical discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering or with comparable demonstrated experience
* Extensive experience in Pump Systems or Compressors/Flues/Hydraulics/Pneumatics
* Knowledge of a wide variety of industrial markets
* Proven experience as an effective manager of a team of technical oriented people
* Excellent communication skills
* Commercial and Business awareness
* Conflict Management, Influencing People, Leadership and Problem-Solving ability
* Sales Delivery
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 08.00 – 16.30, Fri 08.00 – 15.30 (39 hours per week)
Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience
