Job Description
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer for a local authority based in Berkshire.
In this role, you will support households in temporary accommodation by managing placements, completing essential documentation, and ensuring legal compliance under homelessness legislation.
Key Duties:
Manage temporary accommodation sign-ups, including Housing Benefit forms and license agreements.
Maintain accurate placement records on NEC and Jigsaw systems.
Conduct suitability assessments and discharge housing duties under s.188 and s.193.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and apply safeguarding practices in all casework.Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
Experience in managing or placing households in temporary accommodation.
Knowledge of homelessness legislation, particularly s.188 and s.193 duties.
Familiarity with housing management systems such as NEC and Jigsaw.
Understanding of safeguarding principles and their application in housing services.What's on offer:
Salary: Up to £22ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
