Job Description
We’re hiring for an experienced TIG Welder Fabricator to join a specialist engineering business based in the High Peak.
This is a hands-on role fabricating bespoke components from stainless and mild steel to high precision, using a variety of techniques and tools.

* £18.50 per hour
* Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
* Early finish on Fridays
* 21 days holiday (plus bank holidays)

What will you be doing as a Machine Operative?
* Fabricating bespoke components from stainless and mild steel (typically 1mm to 5mm thick)
* MIG and TIG welding to a high standard
* Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
* Using metal cutting/forming machinery including press brake, guillotine, rollers, and hand tools
* Contributing to design reviews and offering suggestions for manufacturing improvements
* Ensuring the final finish and dimensional accuracy of parts meets strict standards
* Working closely with a small technical team during new order setup and fabrication
What do you need?
* Proven experience in TIG and MIG welding
* Strong fabrication knowledge and the ability to interpret engineering drawings
* Experience with stainless and mild steel
* Familiarity with a range of sheet metal tools and fabrication machinery
* Time-served apprenticeship in welding/fabrication or equivalent
