Position: Transport Manager
Location: Hythe - Kent
Hours: 5 out of 7 any rolling week - to be planned
Salary: Up to £45,000
Are you an experienced Transport Manager with a passion for logistics and a proven track record in managing compliant, efficient fleet operations across the UK and Europe? We're looking for someone who has an International CPC and a current HGV 1 licence to join our client's team in Hythe.
We are recruiting for a UK and European transport company, providing high-quality logistics solutions across borders. With a modern fleet and a strong reputation for service.
The Role:
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their fleet, ensuring full compliance with UK and EU transport legislation. This is a critical leadership role where you will play a key part in the safe, efficient, and lawful operation of our transport activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Hold overall responsibility for Operator Licence (O-Licence) compliance.
Ensure fleet and driver compliance with all relevant UK and EU legislation.
Manage driver performance, including tachograph analysis and working time directive compliance.
Oversee scheduling, route planning, and load optimisation for UK and European deliveries.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure high service levels.
Maintain accurate transport records and reports.
Lead, support, and develop the transport team.
Requirements:
International CPC - Essential
Category CE (Class 1) licence - Essential
Demonstrable experience in a similar Transport Manager role.
Thorough understanding of UK and European transport legislation.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
IT proficiency with transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
