Join a long-established passenger transport company with a proud history since 1889! Based in Weston-super-Mare, operating a fleet of approximately 90 vehicles with a dedicated team of 75 drivers. The company are looking for a motivated Transport Operations Supervisor to support their dynamic 24/7 operations and contribute to a legacy of excellence.
The Role
As a Transport Operations Supervisor, you’ll ensure the seamless operation of the passenger transport services. Key responsibilities include:
* Operational Efficiency: Utilize transport management software and Google Workspace proficiently.
* Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of driver hours, mileage, telematics data, and DBS checks.
* Operational Support: Assist the Operations Manager with daily transport operations.
* Incident Management: Handle initial stages of incident investigations.
* Communication: Liaise professionally with internal teams, customers, and external partners via phone, email, and in-person.
* Team Leadership: Manage a team of 5 cleaning staff, including recording their hours.
* Administrative Support: Provide general office administrative assistance.
The person
* Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Suite.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proactive attitude.
* Reliable commute to or willingness to relocate to Weston-super-Mare (BS23 3DN).
* Advantageous: Knowledge of Weston-super-Mare and surrounding areas, plus general UK/European geography.
* Desirable: Previous experience in transport operations.
The benefits
* Starting salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per year.
* Work Schedule: Monday-Friday with rotating shifts (06:00-15:00 one week, 11:30-20:30 the next). On-call duties average one weekend every 4 weeks plus one weekday. Time off in lieu provided for weekend work.
