£32,500 (£45,000 OTE)
Job Summary
The Used Car Controller (UCC) is a key part of the Dealership Team, reporting to the General Sales Manager and based in Plymouth. In this role, the UCC collaborates closely with the Sales Managers to drive sales and meet financial goals by effectively managing and developing the used car sales department.
Your Day
* Work with Sales Managers to keep the right amount of used stock available to boost sales.
* Buy used cars at the right price based on their age and preparation costs, in line with brand guidelines.
* Ensure quality used vehicles are available to meet sales and financial goals.
* Build strong relationships with manufacturers, auction houses, and trade contacts to acquire stock.
* Make purchases based on the business's needs and stock profile.
* Offer advice and support to Sales Managers on retail and trade vehicle valuations.
* Provide reports and analysis on purchase activities.
* Track 60+ day stock, adjust pricing, and assist with vehicle disposal or transfers.
* Monitor the mix and volume of vehicle sales to ensure stock is replenished correctly.
* Check vehicle condition, service history, previous ownership, outstanding finance, mileage, and accident history.
* Ensure all used cars meet the Brand Approved Vehicle Programme standards.
* Follow company policies in all actions.
* Stay updated on auction trends and market conditions.
* Oversee vehicle preparation standards and costs, working to reduce prep times.
* Ensure proper forecourt display and management standards are met.
Must Have:
* Passion for delivering an exclusive customer experience.
* High level of social and communication skills.
* Knowledge and experience of the retail motor industry, with the ability to accurately appraise vehicles (currently BCA Dealer Pro)
* Energy and enthusiasm and a positive can-do attitude.
* A desire to achieve challenging goals and targets.
* Valid driving licence.

Hours of work:
Monday - Saturday 8.30 - 18:00, day off in the week
1 in 3 Sundays 10:00 - 16:00
