Vehicle Technician (109jc) – Southampton – up to £40k + Benefits

They are looking for an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician, whether from an independent or main dealer background, it’s the passion and capabilities to help drive the business forward that are key.
My client is an independent automotive repair workshop based on the outskirts of Southampton, on the edge of the New Forest, with facilities to carry out MOT testing, servicing and repairs, diagnostic fault finding and a lot more besides.
Under the current ownership the business has grown, and looking to grow further, gaining a reputation for its honesty, integrity and transparency with all the work carried out on the premises.
With this growth, it is important to the owners and management team to expand the skill set of the workforce, ensuring the team continues to work efficiently, drawing on all staff members’ experience.
Further growth plans include modernisation of the current site, for which planning permission has been approved, enabling them to cater for wider, taller and heavier vehicles thus future proofing the site. Additionally, they are continually looking to invest in equipment and technology to keep up with industry changes and requirements.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to work on their own initiative and within a team, have an eye for detail, and be a good communicator with both colleagues and customers, as well as being numerate and literate.
What They Offer:
* Salary up to £40,000 p.a. (dependent on experience etc.), Performance-based bonus, 31 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), Health insurance, Company pension scheme and Hours Monday-Friday 08:00–17:00.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues accurately and efficiently.
* Work closely with our experienced team to deliver the best service for our customers.
* Stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
Ideal Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience as an automotive technician, ideally with certification, i.e. Technician (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent to Level 3)
* Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
* MOT Tester preferable (or training given if required)
* Full UK Driving Licence
