Job Description
Our waste management client based in Coxhoe, Durham has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Weighbridge Operator to join their team as soon as possible!
The role will be temporary on going and is estimated to last until November 2025 initially. The working hours are 07:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday.
The pay rate for the role is £12.65 per hour, increasing to £13.26 after 12 weeks.
Duties of the role will include: -
· Operating the weighbridge on a day-to-day basis and produce an accurate weighbridge ticket for all loads entering and leaving the site
· Using software systems associated with the weighbridge and recording data in a timely and accurate manner. This data includes the customer/haulier details and the material being transported, the correct vehicle registration, source/ destination and any order number
· Ensuring deliveries and collections conform to Waste Management Legislation by inspecting relevant documentation. To ensure outbound documentation is completed accurately and completely in accordance with applicable legislation
· Handle payments including cash from private customers ensuring detailed accounts are recorded accurately and monies banked on a regular basis.
· Refuse to accept/issue material when a customer account is on a credit stop (unless prior authorisation is obtained from the Site Manager or credit control department).
· Notifying the driver when a vehicle is over-weight
· Carry out routine checks of weighbridge accuracy and make appropriate adjustments and balanced and reading zero. To carry out non-technical periodic maintenance of the weighbridge in accordance with manufacturer's checklist such as cleaning. Maintain the weighbridge office and ensure it is kept in a clean and tidy manner
· Following health and safety procedures when on site at all times
To be considered for the role, ideally you should have previous weighbridge experience or at least experience of working in a relevant operational related area such as waste or environmental services.
