A Yard Packaging Worker combines warehouse and packing duties, ensuring goods are safely and efficiently prepared for shipping. This role involves tasks like picking orders, loading and unloading vehicles, packing products, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Additionally, they may be involved in inventory control, quality checks, and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Key responsibilities of a Yard Packaging Worker:
Picking and Packing:
Locating and retrieving items from storage, packing them into boxes or containers, and preparing them for shipment.
Loading and Unloading:
Loading goods onto delivery vehicles (lorries, vans) and unloading incoming shipments.
Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, moving supplies to storage areas, and ensuring sufficient stock is available.
Quality Control: Inspecting goods for damage or defects before packing, ensuring packaging is secure and labeled correctly, and reporting any issues to supervisors.
Safety and Compliance: Following safety protocols, ensuring equipment is used correctly and maintained, and adhering to company procedures.
