Salary: MPS (Dependent on experience)
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join our school in Kensington, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time maternity cover role, offering the opportunity to teach a vibrant class of Year 1 students, helping them develop a solid foundation in their early years of education.
About the Role:
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering the Key Stage 1 curriculum to a class of young learners. You will plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across a variety of subjects, supporting students in their transition from Reception to more formal learning. This maternity cover position is a great opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s development while working in a supportive and collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality lessons across the Year 1 curriculum, ensuring engaging and differentiated activities.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to both pupils and parents.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency of teaching and learning.

Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and well-being.
The Ideal Candidate:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally with Year 1.
*
A sound understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and early years’ developmental milestones.
*
A passion for working with young children and helping them grow academically and socially.
*
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
*
A creative, patient, and positive approach to teaching.
