Key Responsibilities:

Plan, teach, and deliver exciting and interactive lessons in accordance with the Year 2 National Curriculum, with a focus on building a strong academic foundation and developing key skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Use a variety of assessment strategies to track pupil progress, providing feedback to support continued development and help prepare students for their transition into Key Stage 2.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where students feel motivated and supported to succeed.

Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leaders to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of the curriculum across the school.

Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, regularly updating them on their child’s progress and well-being.

Contribute to school life through involvement in extracurricular activities, school events, and ongoing professional development.
Person Specification:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Strong knowledge and understanding of the Year 2 curriculum, with experience in teaching and assessing students in this key stage.

Proven ability to use assessment data to track student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
*
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and focused learning environment.
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

A passion for teaching and a commitment to professional growth and student success.
