Year 2 Primary Teacher - Maternity Cover (Full-Time)

Salary: MPS (Dependent on experience)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join our team in Brent, starting in September 2025. This full-time, maternity cover position provides an exciting opportunity to work with a wonderful group of Year 2 students and support their learning and development as they prepare for their transition to Key Stage 2.
About the Role:
As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering the Year 2 curriculum, with a focus on ensuring students are well-prepared for their SATs. You will plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across all subjects, ensuring that each child is supported to reach their full potential. This is a maternity cover role, and you will be expected to work collaboratively with the rest of the Year 2 team to create a positive and motivating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum.

Prepare students for SATs, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to succeed.

Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to pupils and parents.

Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all children can thrive.

Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.

Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum and teaching strategies.

Maintain strong relationships with parents and keep them informed of their child’s academic and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally with Year 2 students.
*
Knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum and experience with SATs preparation.
*
A commitment to raising standards and improving student outcomes.
*
Strong communication and organizational skills.
*
A patient, nurturing, and creative approach to teaching.
