Job Description

Are you a dedicated and passionate educator with a commitment to fostering academic success in Year 6 students? We are excited to invite applications for a full-time, permanent Year 6 Teacher to join our thriving school community in Oxford, starting September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking school where we nurture and challenge students to achieve their full potential. About the School: Our school is a dynamic, inclusive, and outstanding institution that fosters a supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. With a focus on academic excellence and personal development, we pride ourselves on providing an environment where both students and staff feel supported and motivated. Our school is well-resourced, and our staff work collaboratively to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are maintained across all year groups. As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play an essential role in preparing our students for the transition to secondary school, supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth in this crucial final year of primary education. The Role: As a Year 6 Teacher, you will have the opportunity to guide and inspire your students, helping them to excel academically and prepare for the end-of-year assessments. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum to ensure every student is well-prepared for secondary school. You will create an inclusive and supportive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their best while fostering a love of learning. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that align with the Year 6 curriculum and prepare students for end-of-year assessments (SATs). * Track and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions to support their learning. * Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture where every student feels supported and motivated. * Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to student development. * Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of students, including those requiring additional support or greater challenge. * Contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular activities and school events. What We’re Looking For: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, is highly desirable. * Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and experience with SATs preparation. * A creative, engaging, and inclusive approach to teaching and learning. * Strong classroom management and communication skills. * The ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents to support students’ academic and personal development. * A proactive and reflective teacher who is committed to improving their practice. What We Offer: * A permanent, full-time position starting September 2025. * A supportive and collaborative school environment where your professional growth is valued. * Access to professional development opportunities to further your teaching career. * A welcoming, inclusive school community with motivated students who are eager to learn. * A well-resourced teaching environment that supports creative and innovative lesson planning. * A focus on staff well-being and a positive work-life balance. How to Apply: If you are an enthusiastic and passionate Year 6 Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you.
