Job Description

Are you an experienced and dedicated teacher looking for a flexible role with the opportunity to take on additional responsibility? We are seeking a Part-Time Year 6 Teacher to join our dynamic school team starting in September 2025. This is a permanent position with the possibility of a TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility) for the right candidate, allowing you to take on leadership responsibilities and further your professional growth. About the School: At our school, we are committed to providing an outstanding education for every student. With a Good Ofsted rating, we have built a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where students and staff work together to achieve their best. We are proud of our strong community spirit, collaborative approach, and dedication to nurturing every child’s academic, personal, and social development. Our goal is to provide an education that prepares students for secondary school and beyond while fostering a love of learning. The Role: As a Part-Time Year 6 Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing our students for the transition to secondary school. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that align with the Year 6 National Curriculum, supporting students through their end-of-year assessments (SATs) and helping them develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. The position is part-time, offering a flexible work schedule while still allowing you to make a significant impact on your students’ education. Key Responsibilities: * Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that are tailored to the needs of Year 6 students. * Preparing students for their end-of-year SATs, ensuring they feel confident and ready for assessment. * Monitoring and assessing students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support where needed. * Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged and supported. * Developing strategies to enhance students' learning experiences, focusing on both academic achievement and emotional well-being. * Collaborating with the wider teaching team, contributing ideas and sharing best practices. * If applicable, taking on a TLR role for leading a subject or a key area within the school (to be discussed with the successful candidate). What We Offer: * A permanent part-time position starting in September 2025. * The opportunity to take on a TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility) for the right candidate. * A supportive and inclusive school culture that values professional development. * Access to excellent teaching resources and modern facilities. * Opportunities for career progression and leadership development. * A focus on staff well-being and a balanced approach to work-life commitments. What We’re Looking For: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * Experience teaching Year 6, preferably with a strong understanding of SATs preparation. * A passionate, dynamic, and creative approach to teaching, with the ability to engage and inspire students. * Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A commitment to the academic, social, and emotional development of all students. * Willingness to take on additional leadership responsibility, including the possibility of a TLR. Location: The school is located in Hounslow, offering excellent transport links to central London and the surrounding areas. With a range of local amenities, parks, and a welcoming community, Hounslow is an excellent place to work and live. How to Apply: If you are an experienced Year 6 teacher looking for a part-time role with additional leadership opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
