Job Description
1-1 Advocacy Team leader
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Advocacy Team Leader to oversee Speak Out’s 1-1 advocacy service. The post holder will:
* Deliver an advocacy case load, including community and statutory advocacy cases (Care Act and RPPR) and advocacy for parents with learning disabilities going through child protection proceedings.
* Supervise a small team (currently 3 part-time advocates) providing a range of 1-1 community and statutory advocacy, including Speak Out’s drop-in advocacy service and transitions advocacy project for young people with learning disabilities.
* Manage referrals, allocation of cases and oversee monitoring and case management
* Work with the contract manager (line manager) liaising with partner organisations to deliver Speak Out’s contractual duties for the service and report against targets.
The successful candidate will have:
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage a complex workload, positively lead a small team and oversee service delivery
* Extensive experience of delivering high quality community and statutory advocacy case work
* Level 4 Award in Independent Advocacy Practice, with specialist modules suitable for the role
* Experience supervising advocates supporting vulnerable clients is essential
