1:1 Individual Needs Assistant – EYFS/KS1 Focus Location: Hailsham Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on Experience) Start Date: Immediate / September 2025 Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Do you have a nurturing approach and a passion for supporting young children at the start of their educational journey? GSL Education are looking for a 1:1 Individual Needs Assistant to support pupils in EYFS or Key Stage 1 in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hailsham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate individual who can help a child thrive both academically and emotionally. This role involves providing consistent, individualised support to a child in the Early Years or KS1 setting who may have additional learning needs. You will work alongside class teachers and the school’s team to create a stable, engaging learning environment that supports the child’s development. Responsibilities of a 1:1 Individual Needs Assistant (INA): Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil in EYFS or KS1. Assist with daily routines, including learning, social interaction, and emotional regulation. Adapt lesson content to meet the child’s needs in collaboration with teaching staff. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Monitor and report progress to teachers and teaching staff. Foster an inclusive and positive learning space for all children. Support with play-based and structured learning activities. 1:1 INA Requirements: Experience supporting children in EYFS/KS1, especially in a 1:1 capacity as an Individual Needs Assistant. A relevant childcare qualification such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent is desirable. An understanding of early childhood development, the EYFS & primary curriculum. A caring, patient and proactive attitude to working with young children. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
