1:1 Learning Support Assistants (2 Posts) - Stockbridge Village
Are you a nurturing, active, and inspirational role model ready to make a significant difference in a young person's life? We are looking for two dedicated and resilient 1:1 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join our team in Stockbridge Village, working with two pupils who require specialist support.
These are incredibly rewarding roles, requiring individuals with a genuine passion for helping young people thrive despite facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
The Roles
We are recruiting for two separate, vital positions:
1.
1:1 LSA for a Reception Child: Supporting a young pupil who is just starting their school journey. This role requires patience and energetic approach, and the ability to establish foundational trust to help them engage positively with their learning environment.
2.
1:1 LSA for a Year 3 Child: Working with an older primary pupil. This role requires a confident approach to help the child manage their emotions, develop coping strategies, and navigate the social and academic demands of Year 3.
What You'll Be Doing
Both children have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and exhibit behaviours of concern (which may include verbal outbursts, non-compliance, or withdrawal). Your core responsibilities will be to:

Build Trust and Rapport: Establish a strong, positive, and consistent relationship with the pupil, serving as their primary anchor and role model throughout the school day.

Provide Nurturing Support: Offer consistent emotional regulation strategies and a safe space for the child to process their feelings without judgment.
*
Facilitate Engagement: Adapt learning tasks and environments to keep the child motivated, active, and focused on their academic and personal development goals.
*
Manage Behaviour of concern: Proactively manage and de-escalate crisis situations using positive behaviour strategies and school policies.
*
Promote Positive Choices: Model appropriate social skills and emotional responses, consistently guiding the child towards making positive decisions.

Active and Dynamic: Someone who can keep up with energetic children and adapt quickly to changing situations—you won't be sitting still!

A Confident Role Model: You must be able to demonstrate integrity, excellent communication, and maturity at all times.

Experienced (Desirable): Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or complex needs (either in an educational, care, or youth work setting) is a significant advantage.
