Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Havering. This is a full-time, term-time position supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on an individual basis, starting in September 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide focused 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
Assist the teacher and SENCO in implementing tailored support strategies and learning plans.
Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes self-esteem, independence, and emotional well-being.
Support with personal care and behavioural management, where required.
Ideal Candidate Will:
Have prior experience supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, or social and emotional needs.
Be calm, patient, and genuinely passionate about inclusive education.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Hold a relevant teaching assistant or childcare qualification (desirable, not essential).
Possess (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
