1:1 SEN Support – Deaf Student in Hemel
Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child’s education?
We’re looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a deaf student in a welcoming SEN school in Hemel. This is a fantastic opportunity to help a child thrive in their learning environment.
Position Details:
Role: 1:1 SEN Support
Location: Hemel, Hertfordshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full Time, Term Time
What the role involves:
Providing tailored 1:1 support to a deaf student, ensuring access to the curriculum
Using effective communication strategies, including British Sign Language (BSL) if required
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans
Supporting social and emotional development in and out of the classroom
Creating an inclusive, positive learning environment
What we’re looking for:
Experience supporting children with hearing impairments or SEN
Knowledge of BSL (desirable but not essential)
A patient, empathetic approach and strong communication skills
Ability to adapt and work collaboratively with school staff
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
