About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in EYFS, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to individual pupils. You'll help children develop social, communication, and learning skills through play-based and structured activities, fostering a calm, safe, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for children displaying additional needs or developmental delays.
Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour through nurturing interactions.
Assist in delivering targeted interventions and early learning activities.
Observe and record progress to inform planning and next steps.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure consistency in approach.
Follow all safeguarding and school policies to maintain pupil well-being.
Requirements:
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
Experience supporting children in EYFS, ideally with additional or emerging needs.
Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to use initiative and adapt to children's individual needs.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
